Well guess what was found today :)
Well, maybe not hours - they are only a year old with the attention span of a gnat but as far as exciting activities in their life - this was probably near the top of the list :)

We have had child locks on the cabinets in the kitchen for a while now - even though the kids haven't really shown any interest in trying to get into them. We decided we wouldn't put a lock on the tupperware cabinet because I knew that if and when the kiddos ever found it there could be hours of entertainment..... Well guess what was found today :) Oh yeah....that would be the tupperware cabinet.... And just as anticipated....it was hours of endless entertainment!! Well, maybe not hours - they are only a year old with the attention span of a gnat but as far as exciting activities in their life - this was probably near the top of the list :) Let me just assure you - double the kiddos double the mess....They literally pulled every piece of tupperware out of the cabinet :) But oh what fun!!

Well all the balloons are gone, the banners have been taken down and put away....The food has been eaten and all that is left is 4000 pounds of candy that is currently staring me in the face....
We had the boys first birthday over the weekend and it was a huge success :) I can't believe that I am actually already blogging about the boys first birthday - time has flown by way too fast!! We sure had a lot of fun on Saturday though - Mommy and daddy have been planning this shindig for weeks (poor Stephen - he had all kinds of computer projects on photo shop to complete over the last few weeks...every time he thought he was done I would add another!!) It was so much fun watching everything slowly come out of the various shopping bags and start to look like a party -oh but trust me there were plenty of stressful moments as well!! Thank goodness we had help!! Aunt Kim came over to work in the Diehl first birthday sweat shop for several hours on Tuesday and then my parents came up on Thursday to help. Of course the best surprise of the whole weekend happened late Friday night when MY SISTER WALKED IN THE DOOR!! I was so bummed that she wasn't going to be able to make the party because of work and in she walks, totally nonchalantly on Friday night - apparently my face was priceless! I've determined that these two boys must be pretty popular - Aunt Heather came down from DC along with Aunt Sarah, Uncle Demetri and Barrett...plus Uncle Ben, Aunt Jennie and Gracelynn came up from Tampa, Grandma, Papa and Grammy were here from Clearwater and Aunt Lynn and Uncle Jim came up from St. Pete!! It was so great to have so much family here - along with so many friends that feel like family!! We had lots of food, a candy buffet ( which came out SOOO cute), the FINISHED playground (pictures to come), a ball pit we borrowed from our good friend Caroline, balloons and more presents than this mommy and daddy knew what to do with!! Thank you to everyone for spoiling the boys totally rotten!! They are so lucky to be so loved by so many people!! Presents with 2 one year olds is a challenge to put it mildly....by the end of the fiasco, both boys had had their moments of throwing a back arching fit and were quietly eating mum mums while sitting on Stephen' and I's lap while we opened their presents....I am sure next year will be a very different story!! After presents it was time for the best part of any party....the cake! The boys did great - they both dug in and by the end the feeding frenzy they were covered in chocolate cupcake :) Straight up for a bath they went. We had so much fun celebrating those two monkeys!! And they were such troopers - both on antibiotics for ear infections (poor babies) I am still trying to recover and think that anyone that comes to our house in the next 6 months will be required to fill a bag full of candy before exiting the premises!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of those that helped me get things ready, to those of you that drove or flew across the country to make sure you could be here and to everyone who came to help celebrate the two tiny humans that have turned our lives upside down over the last 365 days!! We were so glad you could join us!! Check out the picture page for all the pictures!! |
