On the other hand.....it's been a really long time since I've updated and that's a good thing!! It means that things have just been moving right along as they should be :) which this mommy is totally fine with!!
So, in an effort to make this less overwhelming for myself....I am going to write several blogs about some of the more major events that have happened here in our crazy life (if I tried to write about everything in one blog it would probably be a short novel) :) Here is installment #1 :)
We had a wonderful, busy and family filled Christmas this year - with much to celebrate!! (see my last blog) :) We celebrated with the Diehl clan a few days early since my inlaws were headed up to Maryland (my sister-in-law was ready to pop with number three) and Ben and Jennie (Stephen's brother and his family) were headed to Tennessee (which is where Jennie is from). The boys got some roller skates (I asked where the ER co-pay was) some new water bottles and some new coloring stuff. Easton got some new toys and some a couple cute outfits. Stephen and I got a huge book case and some baskets for the playroom (which needs some TLC and organization), Stephen got a new jacket and I got some pinterest project supplies (pictures to come eventually when I actually get to do them!!). We enjoyed some good family time, some funny moments watching three little ones try to figure out roller skates on grandma and grandpa's wood floor and some good food!! It wasn't enough time and it wasn't the same without the rest of the Diehl clan in town but it was good nonetheless!!
After one final dinner with the Diehl's, with the car packed to the rim, we headed down to Clearwater for round two and three of Christmas. We celebrated with mom's side of the family Christmas eve and Christmas day with a house packed to the brim. The boys again got spoiled rotten and now have more battery opperated toys (specifically remote control cars) then any two kids could ever need (for the record - they LOVE them all!!) Easton got a lot of clothes which was good - many of the boys hand me downs were the wrong season!! Santa brought the boys new big boy bikes which I was amazed to watch how quickly they picked up! Stephen and I got a "project" - dad (with some help) is going to put a window in at the top of our stairs - this is something that I have been wanting BIG TIME!! So excited!! Stephen also got a dolly (the kind that moves heavy stuff not the kind you play with and change outfits for), some random duck dynasty treasures and other random boy stuff. I got a chalkboard frame for my dinning room, some new dish towels that actually match the kitchen and a few gift cards for some shopping along with tons of other treasures. It was another good few days of fun, family and food....The noodles probably being the best part :)
Then again a few days later it was time to go for it again with dad's side of the family - with another house full for yet another day of fun, family and food. This time there was delicious smoked pork loin (yummo). The boys again got spoiled - homemade knit sweaters from great grandma, a few games, some new books, some clothes. We got to enjoy some time with cousins and Easton got lots of snuggles. Another busy but good day.
We are so blessed!! God is so good and like I said before, we have SO much to be thankful for this Christmas. How lucky are we to have three amazing families to celebrate with!! Thank you to everyone for spoiling us all rotten!! It was wonderful to see everyone, spend some time and eat some yummy food!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
Love and Hugs,
The Diehls
