So after the goodbye, Stephen and I were officially outnumbered for the first time!!
We made it through just fine! Saturday was pretty low key - we had a few friends come by to say hello but other than that it was a lot of just hanging out - and I watched a LOT of the silly TPC (golf tournament - that I wasn't even remotely interested in but somehow it sucked me in!!)
Sunday we celebrated Mother's Day -
I got spoiled with breakfast in bed (momma's favorite - Dunkin Doughnuts!!) and two sweet cards! Then we headed out to Cracker Barrel for lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Diehl. The rest of the afternoon was pretty low key - which is exactly how I wanted it! More TPC (sucked in again!), lots of playing outside with the big boys in the beautiful weather and tacos for dinner made by my hubby. It was a perfect day!
Monday - another first for me....I was home, alone, with only ONE baby!! The boys are at Emilee's this week (that's our amazing babysitter). Sometimes she comes here, sometimes the boys go there - just depends on work schedules......
Well this week they are there and I'm here with only one baby - never been a mom of only one newborn before. It was weird - I was almost bored!! I got a lot done!! Spent several hours going through all the paperwork we came home from the hospital with. Picked up a little, watched some Army Wives from the DVR and went to put something away in the pantry and ended up cleaning the whole thing out!! Yesterday evening was a treasure! We spent the entire afternoon outside - first out back, swinging, jumping in the trampoline (I didn't join in that fun!!) and kicking the soccer ball. Then we headed out front for some tractor driving and rock collecting - it doesn't get much better than that! We were blessed with a delicious dinner last night and ended the evening with a walk around the neighborhood. I just cannot express how nice it is to be able to join my family again for a walk!! And I CANNOT believe how much the neighborhood has changed!! For those that don't know, we live in a neighborhood that is still being bulit in - I swear the number of houses has doubled since January!! It looks like a real neighborhood now - not just a giant field!!
Today, another day just me and the little guy :) He's had a bath (and his momma has showered!!) so already today is a success!! First night cooking dinner for the family since January - guess I should figure out what we are having :) But tonight.....tonight is big....it's the SEASON PREMIER OF SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE!! (yeah I know I'm a little pathetic but it is seriously my favorite show!!) And hey, I'm not alone!! My two neighbors are already planning to spend the evening over here watching it with me!! (thank goodness for friends who are as crazy as you!) It's going to be a good night - hopefully I can stay awake!! Tomorrow we are headed to see a co-worker of mine....she is going to make some tiny little splints to put on E's feet to get a better position and a little bit of a stretch - they might not work the way they should but we want them to be positioned well for down the line when mommy puts him in braces for standing and walking!! Then I have an OB appointment on Thursday and he has another pediatrician appointment on Friday. Daddy's super busy this week with the seniors closing out their high school career....Thursday night is baccalaureate and Friday is graduation. Mommy's diving right in - I'm on my own for bedtime routine on Thursday and then have all three kids by myself all day and evening Friday - I'm going to bed when they do!! Oh the fun of being a mommy.....Staying busy!!
Love and Hugs!
