Instead, it is one of those things that is always on my to-do list but never actually gets done. When I do finally take the time to sit down and write an update I feel like I need to talk about the last 3 months because that’s how long it been since I’ve written so….
To start out the year right…I’m going to do one last rambling blog – “a year in review” and then start nice and fresh – new way of blogging, lots of new pictures and who knows, maybe even a new look to the website itself.
So sit back and enjoy this last wordy blog and then resolve to check back often because this mommy is going to work on making this website more of a “top of the to-do list” task!
January 2010 – We moved into our new house (FINALLY). After 8 months of shacking up with friends and family, Stephen and I (and my big as a house 8 month pregnant belly) moved in on January 8th. We spent this month getting ready for the boys who would soon make their appearance – getting boxes unpacked, cribs put together and last minute things in order
February 2010 – This month is pretty obvious...Mason Anthony and Jace Michael joined the family on the 19th. Mason weighed in at 6# 7oz and Jace was a whopping 7# 1oz. To be honest….the rest of the month it kind of a blur – just rest assured we were EXHAUSTED but loving every moment (well most of the moments)
March 2010 – March was spent finding our rhythm. I was home on maternity leave trying to figure out the best way to juggle newborn twins while Stephen was busy at work finishing up the year. I got to spend some priceless time with mom, the boys got to meet Aunt Heather this month and we had our very first playdate with our dear friends Dara and Caroline
April 2010 – Daddy got to spend a week home with us on his spring break this month which was really special. Both boys also slept through the night for the first time on the same night on the 24th which was SUPER FABULOUS!
May 2010 – In May, the boys went to Prom (well made a stop by at least). We also got to be part of the baby dedication at church, which was so special. Grandma and Papa Cadogan, Grammy and Grandma and Grandpa Diehl all got to be there to help us pledge to raise these precious blessings up to love Jesus. I also had to go back to work on the 24th of this month – NO FUN! :(
June 2010 – Daddy began his adventure – he spent the summer home with the kids! On the 12th, Stephen and I celebrated our 6th anniversary with our first real night out since the boys were born. The boys had their first experience with swings at the playground too – and LOVED it!
July 2010 – The boys started eating solid food, started rolling, were reintroduced to Aunt YaYa, Uncle Metri, Aunt Yennie, Uncle Ben and Barrett at the beach condo and found out WE WERE GOING TO HAVE ANOTHER COUSIN!! (due this month – 1/2011 – actually). We got to see Aunt Heather again too for a long weekend!!
August 2010 – Daddy headed back to work this month and we got to get used to hanging out with our buddy Lucy and her mom Emilee (what a blessing they have been). Both boys mastered the art of sitting up on their own and were starting to get mobile (especially in their beds).
September 2010 – Both kids really started moving this month. We went to our first home high school football game (go eagles) and stated babbling (mamama, dadada). Mommy also got to go away for the night to the So You Think You Can Dance show with some girlfriends!! SOOO MUCH FUN!
October 2010 – This month the boys were waving and clapping, pulling to stand and crawling on hands and knees all over the house – let the chasing begin!! We had lots of fall/Halloween fun too – we went to a pumpkin patch, went on a hayride, gave out candy and they even went trick or treating dressed as cowboys!!
November – We celebrated the boys first Thanksgiving – and stuffed our bellies with delicious food! We also thought it would be a good idea to take the boys on their first camping trip (for the record – it was a really BAD idea).
December 2010 – The big event was obviously the kids first Christmas where they were spoiled rotten! We got to celebrate with mom’s family at our house, the Diehl’s at grandma and grandpa’s house and then a week later with dad’s family at grandma and papa’s house!! It was a crazy, whirlwind month filled with family, presents, a little sadness with the passing of Stephen’s grandmother and a whole lot of memories!!
Oh my – take a deep breath!! What a year it has been. Looking back I feel like I blinked and it was over!! Makes me a little sad to think that the boys are almost a year old, that we’ve been in our house for a year and that my favorite jeans still don’t fit the way I want them too….but at the same time I am so excited to see what is in store for us in 2011!! The kids are getting more fun every day and Stephen and I are learning the art of juggling life as we knew it and life as we know it!
Well – there it is – the end of the crazy wordy blogs (I hope) – I now officially vow to keep you in the loop of our crazy whirlwind we call "Diehling with Life." Hope you enjoy what is to come!!
