Oh my - so much going on....so much to talk about!! You would think that we have had a lot going on or something - or that life with three kids is just a little crazy!! I have sat down to blog 100 times and never gotten more than a sentence or two written. Of course it doesn't help much that since I am still getting up several times a night to feed the newest member of the family I am pretty worthless after about 7pm - I can barely complete a sentence let alone type several about all of the Diehl adventures!!
(I'm stealing a few minutes during nap time.....I'll catch everyone up via blog and then promise to catch everyone up with pictures later tonight or tomorrow.....maybe) :)
So lets start where we left off last time :)
Friday (like 2 weeks ago at this point) Easton had another pediatrician appointment and in true Diehl boy form he proved to be quite a piglet. The goal for the appointment was for him to be back up to his birth weight (6# 11 oz) but he blew that goal out of the water weighing in at 7# 2oz!! The doctor was thrilled and said that he looks wonderful and is growing nicely - We will be back for another check with them when the little man is 2 months old! At this point (he was a month on Thursday - he is probably closer to 8#!!)
My awesome babysitter saved me from having to venture to the pediatrician with Easton and the twins but this momma got brave later that morning!! After a successful trip to the pediatrician, I picked up the big boys and the 4 of us headed to Publix (which is a tradition for me and the big boys on Friday's pre-surgery). The process took a little longer but we all did great - The big boys in the car cart and Easton is the moby wrap...up and down each isle, stopping for a cookie and some turkey from the deli of course!! It took about 3x as long as this momma is used to but we all survived and it was kind of nice to get to an old routine of ours :) To revisit my last blog - I got saved from a second night all alone by Grandma and Grandpa Diehl. The big boys had a sleepover on Friday night leaving me with just the little guy. Then on Saturday Mason and Jace got to take an adventure to the Navy Base to check out all of the planes - they had a blast and are still talking about it several weeks later!! Stephen and I enjoyed a Saturday of catching up - I think I did about 8 loads of laundry, the bathrooms got cleaned, house got vaccumed and the floors mopped - yep, pretty exciting life we live!!
We have been busy for sure since then!! (so busy we are going to bullet these last few weeks - or you all will need to take a weeks vacation to catch up!!)
*Easton and I saw my co-worker and decided to start taping his feet instead of bracing at this point. He tolerates it really well and is just a bit of a wiggle worm when mommy is trying to get it on him!! Funny how skills from way back in undergrad will come back to haunt you - my athletic training days are coming in handy, except Easton's feet are quite a bit smaller than the high schoolers that I am used to!!
*We went swimming at the condo pool which was quite a treat! We are so excited that my parents still own a rental condo up here cause that means we have access to the beautiful pool which we checked out a few weekends ago. It was cold but despite blue lips and shivering chins the boys had a blast!!
*Easton and I got to be a little famous :) Background story on this one....When I checked into the hospital the nurse who was getting me settled questioned why I was having a scheduled c-section at 37 weeks. I gave her the short version of the story to which her reply was "oh my - this is such a cool story you need publicity - at least the Baptist Care Connection!!" (which is the little magazine that gets passed around the Baptist hospitals here in town. Well later that day she came by again and said that Vicki, head of Wolfson PR (the children's hospital) was going to call me. That she did and asked how we felt about newspaper and/or tv coverage. Well a press release later and suddenly Easton and I were on the morning news of a local tv station!!
It was a pretty short clip - think it really might have taken me longer to get dressed that morning....and I KNOW it took me WAY longer to figure out WHAT to wear but it is a cool way to get our story out there!! They also published the press release on the Baptist website. Hey, we got to spend some quality time with Easton's neurosurgeon who I really like (yes, for those of you that remember....I didn't feel this way in the beginning but I have changed my mind significantly!! She is wonderful!!) and got to meet the news anchors that we watch in the morning!! Here's the clip and the story :)

*Grandma 'Dogan and Grammy came back to visit - which means LOTS of adventures!! We ventured to Chucky Cheese - which I must admit I was very nervous about but I was pleasantly surprised! It was clean, the boys had a blast and the pizza was actually pretty good!! They got to spend another fun morning at the mall (a Grandma 'Dogan tradition) which always includes a train ride, lots of rides on the escalators, a walk around the puppy store, a few rides on the merry-go-round and lunch at Chick-f-la. We also ventured back to the pool, to Steak n Shake and to a new park to check out a new playground, feed the fish off the dock and have a picnic lunch!!
*Some old friends of Stephen and I's, Adam and Lauren, were in town and got to come over for a visit. It was so nice to see them and catch up!! The kids had a blast in the back yard with some new friends (Adam and Lauren have young kids too!!) And then we enjoyed a trip for pizza, a tradition of ours!!
*Easton got to meet Aunt Jennie, Uncle Ben and Gracelynn. They came up for Memorial Day weekend and we got to spend some quality time just hanging out. The boys always enjoy hanging out with their cousin and it was quite possibly the most adorable thing ever to see Gracelynn interact with Easton. She was totally in love immediately!! I think she actually held him longer than either one of the boys ever has!!
*We took a trip to the zoo to celebrate daddy's first day of summer which was so fun! Easton was a rock star - hardly made a peep the entire time! The boys had a blast!! They got to feed the giraffe's, ride the carosel, play in the splash park and have snow cone!! It was a fun day!
*Then today, a trip to an event called Feel the Wheels with our friends Dara and Caroline. It was a fundraising event in St. Augustine for a children's museum - they had a ton of vehicles for the kids to explore - fire trunks, police cars, a trolley, RV, diggers, tow truck, helicopter, boarder patrol boat. It was hot - but lots of fun!! Followed up by a trip to Wendy's makes for the perfect day!!
*Coming up - We have a repeat head ultrasound and an appointment with our favorite neurosurgeon on Monday - so prayers please that everything still looks wonderful! We also have ortho scheduled (right now for June 20th) but we are trying to get the date moved up - thank goodness for connections!! :) And Urology follow up is scheduled for early July......This boy is busy and keeping his parents busy too!!
And one last thing - a reward for all of you who actually made it to the end....We got the pictures back from our AAAAAAAA-MAZING photographer Danita!! Girl, I don't know what we would do without you!! Thank you for capturing our family so perfectly!!
Here's the link to the slideshow :)
The kids are up.....back to the real world!!
Life is crazy - but I wouldn't have it any other way!!
Love and Hugs!!

Thank you so much for sharing the articles and the slide show with us. Loved seeing pictures of your three boys and the family together. They are all precious. She did a fantastic job with the presentation. Glad to hear that Easton is doing well. He and you all are still in my prayers.
